Zimbabwe-China Sign U-S $8 Billion Deal

The Zmbabwe government and a Chinese-Angolan joint venture called Sonangol yesterday signed an investmment accord for 8 billion dollars to be injected into mining, ernegy and housing.

 

This latest Chinese investment move is the largest since the formation of the National Unity Government in Harare.

 

Economist Godfrey Kanyenze, director of the Labor and Economic Development Institute of Zimbabwe, says it is yet to be seen how the unity government implements these agreements.
