Football club TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo has signed three players of Zimbabwe's Monomotapa Football Club, reinforcing its bench as it prepares to contest the FIFA World Club Cup in Abu Dhabi next week and the 2010 Confederation Of African FootballChampions League.

The three - Mthulisi Maphosa, Daniel Zokoto and Chris Samakweri - are the first Zimbabwean players to be signed by TP  Mazembe. However, reports said FIFA refused to register them for the Abu Dhabi event as they joined after the end of the DRC soccer season - TP Mazembe was appealing on grounds that Barcelona added players post-season.

Monomotapa Secretary David Makombe told VOA Studio 7 reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye that his team is pleased not only at the financial windfall from transfer fees but also the players’ international exposure and increased incomes.
