Reports say fighting has taken place between Somali government forces and Hizbul Islam Militia in Beledewyne, Somalia
Reports coming out from Beledwyene, the provincial capital of the Hiran Region in central Somalia confirm that there was a continued fighting between government forces and Hisbul Islam, one of the major insurgent Islamist groups operating in Somalia.
VOA-Somali Service reporter in the area, Hussien Dhaqne reported that Hisbul Islam now has taken control of Janta Kuwiindishe, which is on the outskirts of Beledweyne.
Some other media outlets are reporting this latest clash has left dozens killed and score others injured.
The fighting broke out on Wednesday between the Hizbul Islam fighters and the government soldiers in Baledweyne.
Fighting and violence in Somalia has become part of a daily life and has caused tens of thousands of deaths, waves of mass departures by the locals and more than one million Somalis displaced. Beledwyne alone has frequently changed different hands of controlling forces over the period of this year.
