Emergency Landing Temporarily Shuts Down Nairobi Airport

Flights to and from Kenya's main international airport were temporarily stopped Saturday after a cargo plane made an emergency landing and remained stranded on one of the runways.

Officials at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport said that airport employees planned to remove the plane and tow it to a nearby hangar. Authorities reported no injuries in the incident.

A report that airport authorities had removed the plane and allowed flights to resume could not be immediately confirmed.

Some information for this report provided by AP and Reuters.
