American skier Marco Sullivan has won his first World Cup men's downhill title by taking a race in Chamonix, France, but Austrian Benjamin Raich remains the overall season leader.
Sullivan finished the 3,343-meter course in 2:00.11 seconds, 0.40 seconds ahead of Didier Cuche of Switzerland. Andrej Jerman of Slovenia was third, 0.06 seconds behind Cuche.
The 27-year-old Sullivan's previous best finish was second place at a World Cup downhill last year.
American Bode Miller finished seventh in Saturday's race, 0.80 seconds behind Sullivan. Raich did not race Saturday, but remains the overall leader with 892 points. Cuche is second, 18 points back with Miller third (897 points).
Racing continues at the Chamonix venue with a World Cup men's super-combined race on Sunday.
