British police have filed charges against an Iraqi doctor in connection with last week's failed attacks in London and Glasgow.
Bilal Abdullah, one of two men who drove a blazing Jeep into the terminal at Glasgow Airport Saturday, is charged with conspiring to cause explosions. He is among eight Muslim medical workers arrested after the attacks.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said investigators from Britain to Australia are getting to the bottom of the militant cell behind last week's attacks. He told British radio he has consulted with Australian Prime Minister John Howard about the plot, following the arrests in their countries of the medical personnel.
Australian police have searched hospitals and questioned doctors in connection with the attacks. The raids followed Monday's arrest in Brisbane, Australia of an Indian doctor who had previously worked in Glasgow.
Meanwhile, a coalition of British Muslim groups has launched a campaign condemning the attempted bombings.
The "Not in Our Name" campaign by the Muslims United coalition began Friday with advertisements in newspapers across Britain.
The ads say that Islam forbids the killing of innocent people. They also praise the British government for its efforts to respond to the crisis calmly and proportionately.
The organizers have also set up a Web site with information about Islam.
