Egyptian Reformists Protest Mubarak's Rule

Pro-democracy supporters protested across Egypt Wednesday to demand political reforms and an end to President Hosni Mubarak's decades-long rule.

Protesters are demanding multi-party elections and restrictions on the number of terms any candidate can run.  Mr. Mubarak, who has already served four terms, said in an interview Tuesday that he has not yet decided whether to run in elections expected in September.

Witnesses and protest organizers in Cairo, Suez and several other towns say police detained dozens of demonstrators carrying the banner of the Kifaya Movement.

In March, Mr. Mubarak's 41-year-old son, Gamal, ruled out running for the presidency, and denied his father ordered multi-party amendments to the constitution so the son could run.
